My crystal ball says…

By Erick San Juan

We should read the handwritings on the wall even before the lightning strikes.

Now, we have seen the flash of the light across the sky. In fact, we are just waiting for the thunder’s roar. We are also waiting to hear where it slammed and what it did. But certainly, elusive peace continues to loom over horizons of southern Philippines. Only the Great Architect of the Universe knows until when this volatile and potentially catastrophic scenario can last.

And for as long as the superpowers continue dipping their dirty fingers on Philippine politics and persist on looking at the geography of the Philippines on the context of world economic and defense domination, Filipinos, especially the greedy political species, will never quit donning the mask of a fierce fighter for human dignity, but in real life are tame, cowed and subjugated.

The disclosure made on July 25 by Mojaqir Iqbal, spokesman of the peace panel of the Mindanao Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), came with not even an iota of surprise to us. Since a month ago, our crystal ball has consistently told us that the undue manipulation by several “foreign chefs” is bound to derail the formal peace-talks scheduled on August 5, in Kuala Lumpur.

Outwardly, the MILF only says that it rejects facing President Gloria Arroyo’s minions before the negotiating table, because of the political double-talk that they have been getting from the government panel. They never made public, the truth that the interest of their sponsors in the oil-rich Arab world is to keep the brave Filipino souls Balkanized, so that they may unceasingly avail of a steady stream of intelligently fierce mujahideens.

On the other hand, aided by Australia (which is a proxy of the British empire), the United States finds the geographical position of the Philippines at a crossroad that serves not just as an important sea lane for trade between Asia and the US mainland or its allies, but also as an important line of defense against the terrorists and the military and economic might of China, which is largely regarded as the emerging Asian super-power.

For one, the Presidency of Ms. Arroyo is in a very precarious state. She could be likened to a petit, but mean lady riding on a tiger’s back. She may not like it, but she finds it best to stay. No doubt, she is struggling to cling on to power. In the event she slips, she stands a good chance of getting devoured by her own soldiers.

There appears to be so much truth in the MILF’s charge that the Philippine government has yet to show signs on its sincerity to address the various issues which have stalled the development of the great southern islands for almost a century now. Fact is: the government started on the wrong foot when, in the 1950’s, it made Mindanao a dumping ground of progressive farm hands who felt cheated by Uncle Sam after it subdued Japan in World War II, where they fought, shed blood and left holding the proverbial bag – empty!

Now, Mindanao’s majority of brave, intelligent, ambitious and industrious population of Christians would no longer allow themselves to be placed under the rule of the natives who may be fierce fighters, but whose number and culture is evidently a minority.

But, oozing with braggadocios and the quest for propaganda effects, General Hermogenes Esperon, Jr., the new Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process had to resort to issuing unilateral declarations that the government’s peace panel may now consider issue on ancestral domain and the annexation of five more provinces and 712 barangays in Mindanao, which are being pursued by the separatist movement.

As a result, hundreds if not thousands of men under Vice Governor Emmanuel Pinol of North Cotabato, have begun retrieving and oiling the guns they have stashed away for sometime now, while preparing to go to war. Because of mouthful propagandists, Mindanao is starting to experience the resurgence of the “Ilaga,” the “Barracudas,” and the “Sagrado Corazon Senor,” who are better known as the “Tadtad.”

Now that the peace parley is off, all we could do is pray that the volatile ceasefire agreement between the GRP and the MILF will hold. I hope that Mindanao will not be the next Yugoslavia.

Abu Sayyaf Is a Myth

By Erick San Juan

There’s an old saying that a lie repeated a thousand times becomes the truth. It seems that even few of our media practitioners and veteran journalist romanticized the myth of the Abu Sayyaf. The Abu Sayyaf group became popular when some of their original leaders were recruited by foreign intelligence agents through their usual conduits in the local force to join the proxy fight of the U.S. against the Russians in Afghanistan. The Russians lost the battle through the mighty strength of several alliances of Asian and Middle Eastern Mujahedeen headed by Osama Bin Laden.

After the Afghan War, some of these Mujahedeen returned home to their native land. The group of Abdurajak Janjalani returned to Mindanao and were recruited by an intelligence unit to penetrate the Muslim Secessionists movements in MINSUPALA (Mindanao-Sulu-Palawan). You can read the complete story in my book “Conspiracies and Controversies.”

What went wrong? Kidnap for ransom became a lucrative business and a cottage industry down south. The problem with those “assets” came when their project was aborted. They were forced to join the elements of “Scalawags” in uniform and politicians who are actually warlords in their provinces. Few of them became bodyguards of these politicians. Just like the late “Robot” who was just a “yayo” or babysitter of the children of Sulu Governor Sakur Tan, he then metamorphosed into becoming one of the most deadly bandits who joined the Abu Sayyaf group.

After the Sipadan and Dos Palmas hostage taking incident, most of the Abu Sayyaf leaders were wiped out by our AFP and the PNP except for some of the lesser evil ”assets” like Radulan Sahiron whose name was used to justify the Ces Drilon snafu.

Up to now the Interpol, FBI and European police agencies are still tracing the $20 Million ransom paid by the European hostages given through the help of Moammar Khaddafy.

The group of Ces Drilon might have gotten the Stockholm syndrome by making them believe that the “negotiators” are really helping them. They were shown youngsters in the ages 12 to 15 armed with long firearms.

I was told by our conscientious friends who are respected Muslim leaders in Sulu that most teenagers used in the abductions are not Abu Sayyafs anymore but petty gangsters, drug users and uneducated bully youngsters.

Without the support of these Muslim leaders we will not see the big picture of what’s really going on there. I would like to congratulate the terrorist expert, Gen. Sonny Razon, the PNP Chief, DILG Sec. Ronnie Puno and their units who used the law of common sense and their political will to ferret out the truth about who’s the real brain in the abduction.

Its now high time real civic leaders manage our local government units. Political patronage must be stopped. Sulu is a paradise and could be the next tourist destination if given the chance. It’s local needs such an opportunity so that their people will not be manipulated by gangsters disguising as politicians.

ARE CORPORATIONS & GOVERNMENTS SIMILAR?

By: Erick San Juan

An American friend of mine, emailed me a very interesting information about the similarities of a corporation and a government. It came from a compilation of news stories called Unfiltered News by G. Edward Griffin.

It was believed that corporation was the essential flaw of the U.S. government which resulted in a collectivist government and political favoritism giving corporations unfair advantages over individuals and competitions (small businesses).

Griffin said that a government is very similar to corporatism and there’s a merger of the two, because they are the same “snakes under the skin”. He explained that everyone of the obnoxious effects of corporatism can be found in big government, and it is most naïve to think that it can ever be otherwise.

Griffin affirmed that governments and corporations are neither good nor evil by themselves. They can serve man well or be a huge disservice depending entirely on the terms of their charters or by the character of those who direct them. Corporations allegedly become evil when they acquire political favoritism giving them unfair advantages over competitors and legal immunity from crimes and the same thing exactly happens with politically connected individuals, partnerships or associations.

The corporations and governments have reportedly the same characteristic that led to widespread corruption and injustice. The fact that their officers and managers are usually protected from suits and personal liability for their official acts.

When crimes are committed by corporations and government agencies, the real perpetrators get off scot free because the culprits are the people behind and not the organizations. These are the political leaders or managers who make the decisions and execute the criminal acts. There’s no command responsibility. When crimes are committed by the people in government, the penalties are passed on to the tax payers. While crimes committed by people in corporations, the fines are passed on to stockholders. In both cases, the innocent are punished and the guilty are spared.

In both situations if only the culprits will be held personally responsible for their actions, most abuses will be stopped. Present laws enable people within those structures to escape liability for their actions.

Everything sounds familiar in the Philippine setting. There’s no more “delicadeza” nowadays. Government officials involved in grand scams have the nerve to tell tales and usually get away with crimes committed. The usual scenario is not only to “get rich quick” but to do big-time corruption and solve the problem later. What else is new?

BEWARE OF GREEKS, BEARING GIFTS, JAPANESE STYLE

By Erick San Juan, D.Litt.
I read the article of Antonio M. Claparols, a fellow columnist at the Newsmaker, a popular newspaper in General Santos City. He quoted the Ecological Society of the Philippines exposing a report that the Philippines is importing rice from the United States containing GMO (genetically modified organisms).
Tony Claparols, the ESP president, commented that even the Americans themselves are vigilant with regards to GMO danger. He added that the U.S. Center for Disease Control recently launched an investigation on “morgellonos disease” after receiving thousands of complaints from people with unexplained skin condition. Some suffers skin manifestations, fatigue, mental confusion, memory loss, joint pain and changes in visions. Claparols confirmed the findings that there’s a link between morgellonos disease and agrobacterium, a soil bacteria extensively manipulated and used in making GM crops.
Even the Europeans opted for a moratorium on the further use of GMO. Here comes the Japanese government suddenly offering their rice surplus to the Philippines. Many activists – environmentalists believe that the offer of rice support from Japan is a quid pro quo for the approval of JPEPA.
Despite a denial from the Department of Agriculture, I was told that the rice surplus was rejected by the Japanese government reportedly because these were actually U.S. rice with GMO.
We hope that if it's true, our government will be wary of this scheme or are we accepting it to cover our inefficiencies?
Just asking!!!

ORDER OUT OF CHAOS, SCARY INDEED!

By Erick San Juan

I received a “mail” from Mike Billington of the Executive Intelligence Review. It’s about economist – activist Lyndon La Rouche’s webcast dated May 8, 2008, entitled Tragedy and Hope.

I find it mindboggling and fearsome but the way La Rouche connected the dots, you will realize that a “clique” within first worlders, meaning 1st world countries wanting to control the world through a new world order. A world where chaos was created and the globalists believe that they are the only ones who can undo it and create order out of an invented chaos.

La Rouche said the world is having a dictatorship, under the name of globalization. The “new tower of Babel” in which cultures are being destroyed, the U.S., Germany, Italy, France are being gradually destroyed and the attempt to make war with China, India and Russia.

He added that the “globalists” intent is the destruction and the break up mainly of China, Russia and India. The alleged policy is to take every nation on earth and create nation states with no sovereignty. There will be no government who has the authority to contradict the Lisbon Treaty Organization. Even NATO is reportedly intended to be absorbed by the Lisbon Treaty. La Rouche expounded that the forces of Europe which are non-NATO will be combined with NATO forces for warfare against China, Russia, Korea, India as well as Southwest Asia. He stated that another globalist intention is to eradicate the U.S.A. after using it as a fall guy.

La Rouche explained that since 1971-72, the globalists have taken over the control of the U.S. dollar and preparing for the full control of the U.S.A. The domino effect is the control of the world through dictatorship and mass starvation through the food war.

In La Rouche assessment, the world will get the same treatment that the victims of dictators like Hitler, Mussolini, etc. suffered.

A new general breakdown crisis of the financial system is now in progress. He said that the financial collapse was not really due to “subprime” default but of the entire international financial monetary system which now entered a hyper inflationary phase and could lead to a new world depression. It’s something like what happened to Europe during the middle of the 14th century which plunged Europe into a new dark age.

La Rouche’s last part of his webcast said, “That for a number of months now, there has been worldwide food crisis” which I myself believe was caused by fear mongering, by wrong financial policies (or is it deliberately done?), governments mismanagement and futures market manipulation. It seems that all kinds of “tricks” are being introduced to sow chaos and panic worldwide.

La Rouche predicts that food crisis is going to accelerate and the world will face threat of death by food shortages. This fakery could result to revolt by hungry, desperate people. I believe that it could also happen here in the Philippines if the government will not correct it’s wrong policies.

Even the biofuel promotion is a gigantic swindle according to La Rouche. There’s even an attempt to control the water system of nation states, La Rouche confirmed.

The globalists through their conduits among bankers and the Middle East petroleum producers reportedly created artificial shortage of oil, provoked and “stage managed” civil wars in oil producing countries like Nigeria, freeze oil delivery; create hysteria to make the futures stock market price erratic and unpredictable.

The situation now is a modified version of the oil crisis during the 70’s. Even the OPEC is bewildered in the machination and how the oil prices are rigged without their blessing.

The world thought that the OPEC or the oil producing and exporting countries is the oil cartel. The truth of the matter, OPEC is made up of oil producing countries but the banks and the financiers dictate the price of the petroleum products through the international spot market and the futures market.

Nation states should be wary of the globalists’ propaganda of fear mongering. World bank President Robert Zoellick said that the World food prices seen to continue rising due to increasing demand and high energy costs (Manila Bulletin, May 11, 2008 page B-5). Former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan said the U.S. recession slipped into an “awfully pale situation and may continue to languish for the rest of the year, (Businessmirror, 5/6/08). Their statements could be true but not to other nations whose economies are robust with stable supply of food. Even China is saying that overseas assessments are not realistic according to Niu Shuping of Beijing, China (Reuters, May 10, ’08).

Even expert financial analysts are confused as to the real reason of the economic down plunged, how and why it’s happening that fast.

We have to remind our government that the globalists hire experts in fear mongering and psy-ops on how to create situations by hyping scenarios with the help of their conduits in media.

If all hell break lose, it will be MAD, a mutually assured destruction because crisis will not quit.
